Building a well balanced plate can be overwhelming when you are beginning your healthy lifestyle. But, what if I told you ... IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE! With the guide I provide in this post as well as a few tips I share. You will be on your way to creating a balanced, tasty, and healthy plate!
TIP #1: PAY ATTENTION TO SERVING SIZE
Take the extra moment to read the back of the label on food to see what the serving size is. And then, FOLLOW THAT! Serving sizes are there for a reason, and too often we attempt to "eye ball" serving sizes, and ultimately end up over eating.
TIP #2: CLEAN OVER PROCESSED
Eating clean does not have to be a daunting task. It is simply going for fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables. Foods that contain limited as well as pronounceable ingredients. In the beginning it will take a little research and work, but once you build that foundation of knowledge and awareness it is EASY.
TIP #3: MAKE IT COLORFUL!
There is nothing more that I love than looking down at my plate and seeing a variety of color. Not only is it appealing to the eye, it also is beneficial to the body. Eating healthy is NOT bland and boring. It is tasty, fun, and makes you feel GREAT!
We have to stop thinking that eating healthy is not good tasting, difficult, or limited. We can create SO many delicious recipes, filled with different and simple ingredients (don't believe me... go look up recipes on Pinterest or Google and check out the thousands of recipes that look INCREDIBLE).
